Community town hall meeting: Contributing ideas for IUPUI’s 50th-anniversary celebration

Community members -- including residents, faith-based organizations, nonprofits and small-business leaders -- as well as IUPUI alumni, students, faculty and staff are helping to plan IUPUI’s 50th-anniversary celebration. A community-focused town hall meeting will be hosted on Dec. 15 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the multipurpose room at the Indianapolis Urban League, 777 Indiana Ave.

Your input is needed! Please attend and recommend activities, events and initiatives that should happen during the anniversary year: July 1, 2018, to June 30, 2019. We want to remember the past, celebrate the present and envision the future!

Greening IUPUI grants

Have you come up with a way to reduce IUPUI's environmental impact or promote campus sustainability? Submit your idea, and you could win a Greening IUPUI grant to make it happen. A total of $50,000 is available to IUPUI students, faculty and staff to fund ideas that promote sustainability on campus. Applications are due Feb. 1.

Campus Center semester-break hours

The Campus Center will operate according to the following reduced-hours schedule starting Tuesday, Dec. 13, and running through Friday, Jan. 6:

Monday to Saturday: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Sunday: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Campus Center will be closed on these dates:

Saturday, Dec. 24, through Monday, Dec. 26.
Saturday, Dec. 31, through Monday, Jan. 2.

MLK Day of Service

The Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, Jan. 16, 2017, honors one of the greatest freedom activists of all time, the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. IUPUI students, faculty, staff and community members volunteer together at community sites across Indianapolis as a way to honor Dr. King's commitment to service and social justice.
