Regatta Day!

Tents and fans lined the shores of the canal during the 2016 race.

Fans lined the shores of the Downtown Canal, where there were plenty of tents to visit for information and Regatta souvenirs.

Action was hot and heavy.

The action was nonstop throughout the heats and into the finals.

The action in the Battleship competition was fast, furious -- and wet.

Regatta has become an attraction for all members of the campus community.

Students from many backgrounds and all over campus enjoyed the September tradition.

The family area saw plenty of action, especially from youngsters attending the event.

The family fun area at the south end of the course, near the USS Indianapolis Memorial, was filled with laughter and more than a few shrieks from kids having a great time.

There was joy at racing successes.

Win or lose, members of competing teams often flashed smiles after finishing their run.

Costumes of all sorts are on display.

Costumes of all sorts have become a staple of Regatta along both sides of the Downtown Canal.

Many of the rowers competing are excited by their achievements.

Success is meant to be celebrated.
