March 7, 2017
Student volunteers were in place to distribute programs and giveaways when the doors opened.
IUPUI Night at the Pacers was a fun-packed event for students and faculty. A few lucky students were able to snatch up the limited tickets available in the Campus Center leading up to game day.
These IUPUI students were representing their Jag pride before the big game! There is no doubt you could hear this fan section.
The Pacers and IUPUI took the time to recognize senior Kendal Lang at halftime of the game. Lang was named Outstanding Undergraduate Student Leader and is the vice president of membership for the IUPUI Student Activities Programming Board. Lang helped increase student involvement in the organization by 114 percent.
Did we mention fun-packed? Select students were asked to participate in the timeout contest on the court.
Some focused more than others on the task at hand, but a good time was had by all.
Students used the hashtag #IUPUIPacersNight to document and share the game on social media.
Students handed out different brochures and informational packets during and after the game. During the fourth quarter, a few students were even able to participate in the T-shirt toss.
Junior Alyssa Wickham and freshman Daniel Di Martino, from left in white IUPUI T-shirts, served as honorary team captains for the night. The students, studying nursing and economics, respectively, were able to meet and chat with both the Indiana Pacers and Washington Wizards captains before tipoff.
Students watched a hard-fought battle between the Pacers and the Wizards, ending in a 111-98 loss for the home team.
IUPUI mascot Jawz and his partner in crime, Jazzy, were a hit at the game!
