Parking Services debuts a new multiyear permit; upcoming rates are announced

Multiyear permits

Parking Services has announced that, beginning in June for the new fiscal year, faculty and staff will have the option of getting a multiyear permit. This permit is the same as the permits you are used to, with one exception: It's good for several years, until 2020.

"The new multiyear permit is a convenience for our users; it will save them from having to remember to renew each year and from making an annual trip to our offices or renewing online," said Sheri Eggleton, director of parking and transportation services.

Here are some other benefits you'll enjoy with the multiyear permit option:

•    You are not locked in to any rate or permit type.
•    You can switch permit types anytime.
•    Even though payroll deduction is a requirement for the multiyear permit, payroll deduction is a pre-tax benefit.
•    Reduces the amount of plastic and paper waste.
•    You do not have to renew again until 2020.

For more information, see the Frequently Asked Questions about the multiyear permit on the Parking Services site.

2016-17 parking rates announced

The parking rates for 2016-17 are listed below. Permits will go on sale beginning June 1. It has been previously announced that IUPUI has a plan to increase permit rates to be in line with peer schools.  Because getting to your garage and parking spaces will be a little more challenging this next year with parking lot maintenance and the start of the Michigan Street two-way conversion project, the rate increase is only about half as much as expected on many permit types. Visit the Parking Services website to view new pricing for all permit types.
